UNmoda x Miss Global: The Final Warning Initiative – A Global Stand for Climate Action through Fashion
Bangkok, March 8th 2025– In a powerful fusion of fashion, activism and global unity, UNmoda and Miss Global have launched The Final Warning Initiative, a bold statement on climate change using sustainable design and the global reach of fashion. Inspired by the Climate Stripes, this initiative transforms climate data into wearable awareness, proving that fashion can be a force for change.
At the heart of the initiative was a striking demonstration: a human chain of 62 women from 62 countries, each wearing The Final Warning Bikini, standing together in a Climate Stripes formation—a visual representation of the planet’s rising temperatures. Conceptualised and executed by UNmoda in collaboration with Miss Global, this moment was a powerful reminder that climate change is a shared global crisis requiring collective action.
“This is more than just fashion—it’s a final warning,” says Kal Kalim, Creative Director of UNmoda and the brain behind The Final Warning Initiative. “The Climate Stripes tell an undeniable story of global warming, and we decided to transform that into wearable activism. It is a message that can’t be ignored.”
What is UNmoda?
UNmoda is redefining the fashion landscape as the world’s first Progressive Luxury Streetwear Label for women. Rooted in authenticity, inclusivity and sustainability, the brand is pushing the boundaries of what fashion can be.
UNmoda made its runway debut with The ALL INXCLUSIVE Collection at Times Fashion Week in Bangalore on December 7, 2024, marking its arrival as a disruptor in the industry. Soon after, the label made history by staging the world’s first Flash Runway in the heart of Shanghai City on December 21, 2024—a bold statement that fashion is not just about self-expression but also about triggering conversations. More than a designer label, UNmoda represents a movement— one that challenges conventions, embraces diversity and fuses high fashion with social impact.
The Climate Stripes: Turning Data into Design
The Climate Stripes, originally created by climate scientist Ed Hawkins, use coloured bands to illustrate rising global temperatures over time. UNmoda’s Final Warning Bikini Collection, conceptualised and designed by Kal Kalim, translates this scientific data into wearable awareness, with each stripe representing a year of increasing global temperatures. “Every colour of this collection tells a story,” Kalim adds. “From the recycled materials we chose to the 62 girls from 62 countries, it is a bold reminder that sustainability is no longer a choice—it is a responsibility.”
The Final Warning Initiative: A Global Movement in Motion
In collaboration with Miss Global, UNmoda brought its vision to life with a powerful demonstration of solidarity. 62 contestants from 62 nations stood together in formation, embodying the Climate Stripes in The Final Warning Bikinis. This striking human chain was a bold statement of unity, urgency and action in the face of climate change.“These women stood together not just as beauty queens, but as leaders, changemakers, and voices for the planet. Fashion has never been this powerful.” Says Swathi Enjamuri, Fashion Director at DIScover India Studios.
Beyond Swimwear: The Future of UNmoda’s Sustainable Streetwear
While this Sustainable Initiative is making waves within the fashion industry circles, UNmoda is taking the movement forward. The brand’s highly anticipated streetwear collection, THE FINAL WARNING is launching in April 2025, and will continue to push the boundaries of conscious fashion. Expect designs rooted in activism, storytelling and the same commitment to sustainability that defines UNmoda’s position as the world’s first progressive streetwear label.
